Harbour Lights, Low Tide · 2023
Masts and harbour lamps settling
on the low-tide water.
The oldest frame in the collection and the one that started it: a working harbour at slack water, boats resting on the mud, their lamps laying long warm roads across the shallows. The moon does the rest, politely, from stage right.
Only fifteen prints will ever exist, and the final frames of the edition are now selling. When it closes, the negative retires with it.
Timed to a spring low tide under a near-full moon — a combination the almanac offered twice that year. One tripod, one long exposure, one very cold photographer.
Low water shows you what the harbour is really standing on.
